Greeting from the new pastor
To my brothers and sisters in Christ at David’s Community Bible Church,
I can echo Paul’s words in Philippians 1:3-5, I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel. I thank God for you and your partnership in the Gospel!
It is a great privilege and honor to be the new senior pastor at David’s Community Bible Church and to serve as your shepherd before God. I promise to never take this responsibility and calling lightly, but will always work hard, pray hard, and follow hard after God for you and the families of David’s. I believe God has great things in store for David’s and Millersburg and He is going to use this church to accomplish His will. It is God’s desire to reach this valley for Jesus and we get to be a part of His plan!
It is my goal to get to know each and every one of you personally but in a church this size that can be a daunting task. I am writing this letter to ask for your help in this. I want to encourage you to introduce yourself to me and share with me any needs or concerns you have. I would love to pray with you and for you. Please do not hesitate to contact me:
- By e-mail: abriggs@davidscbc.org
- By Phone 717-692-4831 (office) 717-952-0488 (home)
- Or simply stick around after the service on Sunday to talk
Also it is Tammy’s and my plan to schedule several “Pastor Meet and Greets” throughout the coming weeks where you will get chance to hear my vision and passion for ministry and ask any questions you might have. Keep your eyes on the bulletin each week for the dates of the meet and greets.
Now is a great time to reconnect with David’s, all of our fall programing is starting including our children’s Awana clubs, teen youth groups and adult small group Bible studies. Starting in September, I will be preaching a sermon series on the early church from the book of Acts titled “The Church Unleashed.” Each week we will be going verse by verse through Acts looking at what the church is and what it is to do. Please plan to join us on Sundays at 10:15 am.
Thank you again for your time and for calling me as your new Pastor and God bless you as we partner with each other for the Gospel.
Pastor Allan Briggs
